Virginia just banned no-knock warrants, via a law signed by Governor Northam today.
Northam also signed a bill that authorizes jurisdictions to set up civilian oversight boards with subpoana power, among other measures. Oregon was until now the only state with a law banning no-knock warrants (per this 2017 article, and I don't believe any statewide laws have passed on this this year: https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2017/03/18/us/forced-entry-warrant-drug-raid.html …)

I voted for it. But it's not enough.
They seem extraordinarily dangerous for both police and those being raided.
Well the original rationale for no-knock warrants was to preserve 1: evidence that is being sought. 2: safety of the officers
