Genetic link between antisociality & reproduction: Among over 31k individuals, genetic alleles associated with antisocial behavior (e.g., crime) correlated with alleles associated with having more children (r= .50) and reproducing earlier (r= .64). https://www.biorxiv.org/content/biorxiv/early/2018/08/23/247411.full.pdf …https://twitter.com/NicoleBarbaro/status/1035160089555070976 …

I can see how this might be due to the poor relationships and risk-taking behavior that are typical of antisocial people. It'd be interesting to look at those with kids from multiple partners vs one partner

Yes! I think both of those are outcomes of a faster life history strategy. Have you read about life history theory? It’s this fascinating theory from biology that describes variation in how organisms allocate energy & effort to different fitness goals (e.g., mating vs parenting).

Anecdotally. I worked in Sweden with an org that tried to rehabilitate the worst criminals (1 percenters, founders 1 percenters too). I found it odd that nearly all of them had parents and grandparents that had criminal records and had abandoned their kids. Don't anymore.

What struck me most was when they talked about the 800 lb gorilla in the room. Living on welfare (minimum income) & being bored vs the adrenaline kick of the criminal lifestyle and the high living (stolen money).

Depressing but thoroughly predictable. However, there is another strategy that also works, involving paternal investment in a small number of high-quality offspring.

Doesn't work in typical modern circumstances - not enough privation.

I wonder if there are also correlations to time histories of prefrontal cortex development / executive decision making capabilities. I.E.: Is "speed of brain development" a heritable trait? (My guess would be yes)

"Our genetic correlation analyses are based on, and limited by, relatively low SNP-based heritability estimates of ASB (2.9%), yielding a heritability Z score of 1.93" Bahahaha, and thats assuming the correlated SNPs are causal. So not even the 2.9% is validated.
