This misinformation from SPD led to a fortification of the East Precinct and weeks of violence against the people of Seattle. As says, it was a "strategy planned by the higher ups." We need an investigation outside City process and we need real accountability.

What the actual fuck. I'm so tired of hearing that our neighbors are dying. We can fix this. We can build safer roads and sidewalks. We can invest in gun violence *prevention.* We can build housing that moves people into stability. We can provide mental health. WE CAN #fixit.

What I hear tonight: Lorena acknowledges and apologizes for the impact her ad had on Black neighbors. What I still haven't heard: Bruce acknowledging or apologizing for impact his support of Ed Murray had on sexual assault survivors.

This is huge! This moratorium will prevent the construction of any new fossil fuel projects in King County (Seattle). Divesting in projects that rely on pipelines and coal/oil is how we combat climate genocide. Thankful for the leadership from our indigenous community! #FFKC

Spek's right. I never expected to be in this kind of rancorous election cycle in "progressive" Seattle. Mil gracias to all of you who organized with your communities to say Hell NO to cynicism and attempts to divide. El pueblo unido, jamás será vencido!

I have no idea what will play out tonight or in the week ahead, but I know our side fought like hell against a billionaire-funded political machine hell-bent on reshaping this city in its image. Whether we fight another day or this was our last stand, I'm proud of us.

South Seattle and the Chinatown/International District need a strong and engaged advocate on the City Council. Our neighbors are have smart solutions to our district challenges. We want to bring our voices to City Hall. I am proud to announce my candidacy for D2 City Council.

Welp, 6th grader will be remote for a week. 9th grader has classes cancelled for 2nd day tomorrow with no further details available. This is all so challenging for everyone. AND,it seems like there should have been a better plan in place by now.

It is completely reprehensible that you recorded people with mental illness for inclusion in your reporting. All people have a right to privacy and dignity. Seattle is dying because we've sensationalized a problem instead of addressing it with humanity.

Thank you . As someone seeking to represent the most diverse district in the city economically and racially, we must stand up against corporate influence that reinforces the status quo. I'm committed to the people of my district, not corporations!

I'm running for re-election bc I'm proud of all we've accomplished over the last four years. We've made progress in connecting our communities, protecting renters, stemming displacement, and addressing past injustices. Together, we've achieved a lot, and there's still work to do.

We have a housing shortage. City owned land should be used for permanently affordable housing to stem displacement. That's how we keep Seattle from becoming a playground for the wealthy and instead build community wealth.
Quote Tweet
Nearly three full blocks of surplus city-owned land could and should be used for affordable housing. Why no action? When the city repurposes surplus land, remember WE all collectively own it. Its new use should benefit the public. Why keep bids and process secret from us? twitter.com/holz_bau/statu…

My plan to end homelessness: 🗸 Prevention - enacting eviction reform, rent control and tenants bill of rights. 🗸 Rehabilitation - repurpose public spaces as shelters and reduce barriers to entry. 🗸 Permanent solution - secure progressive revenue to build public housing.

I am so angry at this process; so disgusted that the trauma of women is regularly trotted out for public display. I'm seething. And now I must go chaperone my 3rd grade daughter's field trip. Because that's what women do. Deal w/trauma, then take care of others.

I would argue that "social deviance" is supporting systems of oppression that criminalize poverty, defend exclusionary zoning, ignore biased policing, and dehumanize people who are suffering from a capitalist system that devalues their humanity.
