I've been struggling to find the words for what's happening in Florida right now, but specifically the absence of talk about it outside of our community. They've literally passed a bill making us register as sex offenders if we use the bathroom in public, and it's all crickets.

It feels like Hollywood is going through what so many other industries have in the recent past: Wall Street loads it up with debt, extracts all value, pays a couple dozen C-suite executives billions, and strips the entire business for parts. It’s anti-labor AND anti-consumer.

I have an idea: let ChatGPT write your columns for a few months. You can rewrite it, but you have to take a 50% pay cut. And you have to go with whatever ChatGPT spat out, you can only edit for clarity. Let me know how much you still like your job at the end.

when you realize that the studios have already lost 20x the money the WGA is asking for since the strike began you really see it’s just about greed, power and keeping your workers reliant on you. they could pay the WGA TOMORROW and not feel the dent.
