When a person hits that subscribe button they are saying, I want this person's content... not I want you @Youtube to decide what portion of content I get.... C'mon guys, to subscribe is an action, which means that sub is saying, give me this content

In the past, some viewers were frustrated with how many notifications they received. Not everyone felt that way, so we added the bell. For any subs who are worried they're missing content, they can get all notifications by changing their settings here: http://goo.gl/XLDtz4

I don't understand why someone would subscribe if they don't want notifications. Wasn't that literally the point of subscribing? The bell just feels like an unnecessary middle-man.

The point of subscribing is so you see all the videos that are put out in your subscriptions bar. Personally, I'm subscribed to 100+ YouTubers. This means if I get a notification for every single one I'd be in spam hell.
