Forums, IRC and TS existed in 2006. Now they have just been consolidated into one platform. Faceless, silent grouping didn't exist in Vanilla, and shouldn't be a thing in Classic. LFG tool has made players disposable commodity that is thrown out after one use.
I don't disagree, but this is a community-created addon. If you don't like it, blame the community.

That's what's happening. The community is saying "no" to this. Its quality of life changes and people flock to those, but it defeats the purpose of vanilla. It takes away the interaction of whispering a tank for help or forming a group organically. It's just another menu.

What "community"? How many people said "no" to this? There will be hundreds of thousands of people playing Classic and a couple hundreds said they didn't want this. Hardly qualifies as "the community".

It's obviously created by people that are not the target audience as they seemingly lack a basic understanding of the social dynamics within the classic game, and when blizzard eventually breaks this add-on it'll hopefully help filter those people out.
