I can definitely see the perspective of players having a higher potential but at what point does it cross the line and simplify the game? Being able to track every CC, every damage CD, every defensive by staring at the timer on your omnibar or having a sound trigger during CDs
Since cooldown trading is still a major part of high level gameplay, it heightens the value of addons. So, I understand your point, but also believe it’d be better to address cooldown strength relative to sustained damage first.
Might be a combination of both causing this feeling, yeah. Seems very simple for players now to stare at addons and script gameplay, which could easily be because of how CD based the game has become on top of addons being more informative
It's not just PvP that struggles with this, PvE has a very similar problem.
cooldown trading is huge part of high level play in league (and other mobas) and there arent any addons at all, people just use the timer which is also the alternative in wow.
