Well Regulated, we have to go through background checks and in IL you have to have a FOID and CCW permit to carry. Both cost money. Would you be ok with an ID that costs money in order to vote?

They already require photo IDs in Texas to vote. If people don’t have money to get the ID (or birth cert to verify the ID) then they don’t vote.

I've lost count of the number of reasons there are to avoid Texas like the plague, but add this to it.

My state is Blue AF and we are also broke AF and people are running to TX from here. I think it will be hard to change the state because most people have run from bad Blue state policy such as high taxes.

You want to talk about high taxes?! I pay MORE in property taxes here in TX than many people I know in states (blue & red) that have state income & county taxes in addition to property! Because TX bases your property tax on your house’s market value. You have to live in a shack!

I’m not kidding. People live in shacks down here and drive Mercedes & Lexus because of the GD property taxes. I couldn’t figure out why UNTIL I owned a home. DON’T MOVE TO TEXAS Y’ALL IF YOU LIKE TO HANG ONTO UOUR MONEY! @TXlege @GregAbbott_TX
