Why am I paying $8000 per year in
#propertytaxes on a 1487 sq ft home? Because our county tax assessors are allowed to base our taxes on the market value of our homes even if the assessment value is much lower! I have to protest my taxes yearly! We are a single income household! -
There has to be some calculation that takes into account a person’s income when figuring out property taxes! We have homestead but that doesn’t apply to our land’s value which was raised $10 grand a couple of years ago!
