“Texas must limit the ability of taxing authorities to raise your property taxes” Gov. Abbott said at his inauguration. Very telling that there was thunderous applause by citizen taxpayers watching behind the seated crowd, and tepid to non-existent applause from seated lobbyists!

As I stated, the individual counties set their own rates. The state can not change the property tax rates for the counties. The counties must do it themselves.
Do you think the actions the state tells each county to preform, have a bearing on the property tax rate set by each county?

If atate can do nothing about property taxes why did gov tweet this: “Texans are eager for changes to property tax system as the legislative session begins. We must deliver those changes to prevent Texans from being taxed out of their homes”
