Was there an issue at the STP prompting the writing of this bill? I support nuclear energy over coal but, I'm not sure why this is an 'issue' up for debate. Where is the research facility going to be built? How many jobs will it create?

There's only one reactor in Texas that I'm aware of but, I haven't heard any issues. Seeing Weber Co Sponsor made me think there was an issue prompting better research facilities. Honestly, it's good seeing money invested in nuclear than coal. Better to see it in wind or solar.

Thanks for sharing! I listened to a little bit of the debates (after he tweeted this) and they mentioned research lab/facility. Just peculiar seeing this as a priority with all the other spending/budget debates going on.

We typically are behind in technology. Public opinion may be a big part due to People looking at the risks over the rewards of nuclear power.

Is this really a priority over, oh, I don’t know, EVERYTHING ELSE? Russia meddling in our elections, our POTUS is committing every crime possible, no one has security clearance, what the hell! The White Houae is a dumpster fire! DO SOMETHING!
