Have you heard of emergency rooms?? People cannot be turned away. As we all learned as the ACA was coming into being, emergency care is overused by folks without insurance and it’s paid for by our tax dollars. It’s way more cost effective to offer regular access to healthcare.
Sure: taxes are paid & whoever pays them (or doesn’t) is “entitled” to healthcare... It’s “guaranteed” in the Constitution, right? Uh... no! Have we really become a nation of entitlements?
