Just to remind you, the Senate passed their roads/bridges/rail/transit bill unanimously last July. It also is the first bill of its kind to have a climate title. The surface transportation part is almost 2/3 of the plan.

There was a big to-do with Dem leaders and a bunch of freshman lawmakers this morning. said she wants to have an infrastructure week (stop laughing) on the floor where they pass all these bills, but she wouldn’t say when. “Not next week.”

The twist is that it’s really a climate bill. The transportation sector is the largest-emitting sector in the U.S. economy, and this bill wants to get it to net-zero emissions. Did you know that if you put coal ash in concrete it absorbs carbon?

Bosch CEO says we may have already past peak auto production/sales. That would be surprising, given low motorization rates in much of the world, but we're certainly in new territory: auto sales falling while economic growth is relatively strong.

I finally got the full set of CBO baseline numbers and am updating earlier tweet. The House Dem proposal of a $434b surface transpo bill (excluding Amtrak/FRA) would be $94b above baseline, or 28% above.
