for the longest time i just assumed that there was something wrong with me or that disliking most things of x subject ment that I didn't like that thing alltogether nowadays its an aspect of myself that i really appreciate, its the core of what makes me want to improve at things
i truly feel like a big reason why the avg human don't generally excel at the things they spend their time on, is because they are able to appreciate unrefined/bad versions of that thing, so there's nothing really pushing them to spend hours and hours of practice perfecting it
its a blessing and a curse for sure

The majority of adults don't spend all of their time 'excelling' at one particular thing because there is a lot going on in their lives, job etc that needs to be done besides one particular hobby. They can't spend 70 hours a week playing a single video game to get good at it.
Also alot of people don't care enough to pursue a real challenge, they find more joy in broadening their activities rather than focusing on one thing

It really depends on one’s motivation or incentive, too....like do they enjoy doing it? Do they feel the need? Is it basically almost their entire livelihood or not? Lots of factors, my dude...no offense
Have you ever felt doubt on being able to succeed? For example i like league and play a bunch but i just never find the results i want despite putting hours upon hours into it and just feel like im going no where with my gameplay even tho i review my mistakes and fix them
And yet i still dont see improvement even tho im fixing mistakes and trying to perfect gameplay
