amsa's jump-armoring through hbox's rest was not a "parry" or "super armor" it wasn't armor at all, right? didn't leffen say that the jump just increases yoshi's weight?

Apparantly that was wrong, it just lowers all moves kb by a set knockback

so then describing it as "double jump armor" is most accurate? that seems to be the norm, i just saw a lot of weird descriptions of parrying and super armor

It's specifically subtractive armor His armor subtracts 120 units of kb from any move that hits him and treats the remainder as regular knockback. In most instances, this means Yoshi powers through the move, but in the case of a high-kb move (rest) he experiences a bit of kb.
