Do DBFZ. I feel like Melee is stagnating as a spectator sport (from my personal experiences) and DBFZ is fresh and has a more diverse audience. This is speaking from a spectator perspective tho. Do whatever makes you most happy.
My heart is telling me "just play both fully" but I'm not sure if my hands/personal life would last a year trying to be the best in two games with little overlap. If I could be satisfied with just being top level at both itd be fine, but I really am a #1 or nothing person hehe

Dragon Ball all the way! It's new, It Likes your hands, & It's even got the most EVO entrants currently! Not to mention Melee has a pretty big chance of dying if Smash 5 has enough depth (while still being easy execution & safe for your frikin hands!)

You're pretty naive if you think Smash 5 could kill Melee. P:M was basically designed to copy it and people still prefer Melee.

Talk to a esports professional who has worked with someone competing in multiple games. Just based on how much time top players seem to spend streaming other games, I think you could definitely balance both. You will have to cut out things like playing secondaries for fun though.
