gonna make myself stop playing games with online matchmaking games in 2018, i've gotten the to the top ranks in YGO/overwatch/battlerite/marvel/sfv past year and I think its actually hurting my motivation to improve in melee since I get that satisfaction easier in other games

Do it in Rocket league next. I bet you'll find the challenge more suited for your difficulty level.

There is absolutely no logic in this statement. Your melee skill is not directly tangible to the hint of a satisfaction when you win.

Nah just play them on the side to avoid burnout. There's no way you can actually grind melee for a long period of time without doing something you enjoy on the side when you're exhausted from melee. If anything it will want you to play more when you're done with that game
