Theory: EVO won't bring back Melee this year. Normally a dumb move, but they'll bank on Dragon Ball FighterZ to make up for the loss.

for many. Most melee players don't care that smash 4 is on sunday instead. its a tough problem to solve & it will require sacrifices but -
i think its far from impossible. It would ruffle some feathers for sure, but i personally think the players that show up would be worth it.

but yeah i understand that you dont want to risk people saying "oh x is a smash tournament now" even if it by attendance would be (like evo)

larger than some of the games that do get sunday spots. either way I think a more open and upfront discussion would clear things up a lot
