well, my point is that there are already plenty of cost barriers, and they do change as you "get higher level"

it costs relatively little to go to a local/netplay (if you live in the right place). If you want to compete u have to travel

as melee becomes more and more of an esport, there will be further differentiation for ppl at the high level

forget controllers, think about coaches/managers (in game and out), proper noise setups, etc

the top funded/sponsored/skilled(you hope skilled and sponsored go 2gether) will ALWAYS have advantages that are fungible
