I definitely can respect the idea that Melee is the type of game where execution is a meaningful part of the gameplay. Duh.

But what if 3rd party controllers made some techs easier. What if the MadCatz GC Controller had more angles built in. Ban or no?

the smashbox/b0xx essentially cannot be allowed without changing the entire field and massively increasing barrier of entry.

That's an interesting perspective, and a rare one. I'm not educated enough to have a strong opinion either way.
