finished yorknew arc in hunterxhunter, definitely better than before, but the pacing and buildup / payoff ratio is still shit

everyone except gon use mostly tricks and tech to beat opponents, rather than powering up mid-battle
this isnt really unique though, esp when you include sports anime in shonen (which all of them are)
