The one weird diff is that smashbox has modifiers and not specific coordinates. LRUD are specific, but needed for framework

I think that's different than having a bunch of buttons that do specific competitive coordinates in one button press

its different yes, but that doesnt really change that to allow it i think most people want analog-digital conversion overall

I'm just interested in how it would work. Having a shield drop modifier on Dpad would require to hold it while moving down.

You can't have a button that goes 1. neutral 2. Shield drop Cuz that's macro, so how can u make digital buttons on GCC viable

Couldn't it just be a modifier that takes any angle on your stick and turns into the shield drop angle, p much overriding stick for a frame

It's just confusing because hitbox is using all the way down+modifier to get shield drop. u get nothing from Y2+D+right

So on GCC you can hold full right and press Dpad down and it somehow shield drops?

that's sus lol that's different than what hitbox is doing. Idk if overriding is answer, i'd b more cool with cardinal

the hitbox is not a golden standard and if we should not create rules around it specifically but all types of controllers
