As shady as voting is, I would say this would benefit our scene by introducing new players. Wouldn't you want that?
I mean award shows in general are just a mess of unjustified opinions + bribing, but fan votes are just straight up disguised advertising.

As pointless as the game awards are, it's getting the Melee scene at least a little more exposure. I can't complain.
