it was unannounced for a LONG time and on Smash.gg it still says - "TBA". On official - "prize pot sponsored by pressfire"

They TECHNICALLY didn't do anything wrong, but I know me and literally everyone I talked to did not realize this. Shady imo.

Then why would you automatically assume it did? I can't speak for Smash, but that's not really common practice these days.

Smash events always seperate Venue fee and Event fee, so if not mentioned otherwise it always goes directly to prize pot
