When was the last time a top 10 player lost in early pools? Top players are far more consistent than many other games that use invites.

Exactly. I'd watch an invitational, but I have absolutely no reason to physically attend one
agreed - however I think the argument still stands, the top 1% are definitely important for attendance

Sure they're important, but the impact isn't really THAT large. At least for most fighting games
