I played brawl before and no lmao. Also melee does have buffer for several things like dashing altho its much smaller. I understand not wanting execution to be a factor, but the thing is neither brawl nor ult manages to do that. Its just shitty execution tests instead of good

Melee is just hard, but thats also some of the point of it. It's like a sport in a sense, its not all about picking the right option, hitting the shot and having the athleticism to perform what you need is part of the fun.

Problem for me is, Ultimate and brawl still has execution tests and such, but instead of the test being fun to execute and practice and clear (do the next move after the first thing finishes), its jumping through buggy buffers to perform basic shit like drift and fulljump

Also, tekken and soul calibur have massive buffer - how is frame data a problem? FYI frame data studying is actually much more important in ult cuz of buffering always letting you be frame perfect

I think this way of thinking is understandable if you've grown up playing games such as brawl/4/ult, but the thing is - not hitting every single input, even as a pro, is fine and still playing the game "normally". The buffer is a ton of training wheels on your bike essentially

Part of what's cool about riding a bike down a mountain with no training wheels at breakneck speed is because you have to actually be skilled to not fall, and even at high levels there is always things to consider in order to keep steady. And you can go so much faster.

The problem i have with ultimate and brawl is that it doesn't manage to eliminate execution - its not a nice ride down with slightly easier roads, its a shitty busride with a drunk driver. Its just a different ride, with more convoluted shit that don't give you the same rush.

But again, of course easy+shallow but quick to learn vs hard+deep with a learning curve is always going to be personal preference. Honestly though, I don't think the brawls is actually that easy to get into competitively, think u started out with them and thats why u dont see it

Yeah it depends on what game one starts out with. Gotta admit though I might dislike having no buffer a liiiittle less now, maybe I'll get used to it so my buffering suffering can end

I think you'll get used to it soon! :)
