Yeah no I'd rather have Ult buffer than no buffer any day. Ult buffer isnt good, but I dont want to spend half a year only learning to gain control over my character and "learn proper timings for every move", + even top Melee players seem to screw up with buffer timing

The problem i have with ultimate and brawl is that it doesn't manage to eliminate execution - its not a nice ride down with slightly easier roads, its a shitty busride with a drunk driver. Its just a different ride, with more convoluted shit that don't give you the same rush.

But again, of course easy+shallow but quick to learn vs hard+deep with a learning curve is always going to be personal preference. Honestly though, I don't think the brawls is actually that easy to get into competitively, think u started out with them and thats why u dont see it

I agree with pretty much all of Leffen's points here, though I will vouch for the Brawl buffer, at least in concept. 10 frames might be too much but letting early inputs go through in the order that you input is good imo Ultimate buffer sucks my balls, I'll take 0 buffer any day

Melee with a customizable Brawl-style buffer up to 5 frames or so would be sooooo sick

The issue is if you want to start playing a game & the game starts by tossing you down a mountain on a bike with no training wheels, which is what melee often feels like. If that's all you've ever done then it feels fine, but if you're not used to it then it's a slap in the face.
