Yeah no I'd rather have Ult buffer than no buffer any day. Ult buffer isnt good, but I dont want to spend half a year only learning to gain control over my character and "learn proper timings for every move", + even top Melee players seem to screw up with buffer timing

e.g. when a player techs or when they do a move and you see them walk when they clearly intended to do a dash... I relate to that a lot. Such mistakes can be very impactful as well, just like how Ult buffer screwing you up can be impactful too

I mean it's your preference so I cant really tell you you're wrong, but your opinion might sway once you get used to it? I'd genuinely be suprised if someone that's played both games at high level like Leffen, Armada or Wizzy for example would say they prefer Ult buffering

Yeah but they're originally Melee players :p You're right that I might get used to it tho but I doubt I will ever like it cus I'm not a fan of learning "specific timings" in general (like just frames in Soul Calibur or Tekken) and for now Melee buffer frustrates me a lot

I played brawl before and no lmao. Also melee does have buffer for several things like dashing altho its much smaller. I understand not wanting execution to be a factor, but the thing is neither brawl nor ult manages to do that. Its just shitty execution tests instead of good

Melee is just hard, but thats also some of the point of it. It's like a sport in a sense, its not all about picking the right option, hitting the shot and having the athleticism to perform what you need is part of the fun.

Problem for me is, Ultimate and brawl still has execution tests and such, but instead of the test being fun to execute and practice and clear (do the next move after the first thing finishes), its jumping through buggy buffers to perform basic shit like drift and fulljump

Also, tekken and soul calibur have massive buffer - how is frame data a problem? FYI frame data studying is actually much more important in ult cuz of buffering always letting you be frame perfect
