I don't wanna hear any character slander in Ultimate any more Melee Roy is a worse character than 95% of the Ult roster and Zain is still beating top players on their mains with him You have no excuses
Melee allows you to outplay the opponent much much harder because of the deep, solid fundamentals in ultimate u kinda just spotdodge utilt and get kills even at top level

not reactable and very limited counterplay and punish- its an "outplay" in the same way a very basic rps is a lot of the time. Thing is that its massive in impact (kills are found in very few ways) yet a very shallow interaction

like things such as di, recovering, combo mixups are barely skill checked at all in ultimate, whereas in melee theyre incredibly deep. people in general also heavily downplay melee low tiers and always have, its part of the "fox is literally impossible to hit if 20xx" meme

While I agree in a general sense, don’t you think it’s mostly due to the newness of ultimate in comparison? Couldn’t you now gimmick the fuck out of year 1-2 melee players?

No. Ult is based on 4 which is based on Brawl - basically all top players have at least 5 year in the engine
