be careful treating the acoustics in your room without getting an acoustician's feedback! too much foam / foam in the wrong place may do more harm that good.

Agreed with this. Especially with a dynamic mic, you don't want the sound to deaden too much by surrounding yourself with paneling.

Honestly, I barely use the filters in OBS because the mic itself requires a solid mixer up front. My Yamaha has the knobs for compressor, gain, bass, etc on it and I adjust them that way. If it didn't have that, then compressor & gain balance would be the first in my OBS.

I'd plan to get a cloudlifer with it. It's a clear gain booster. The mic out of box with just a standard mixer can be quite low without one. I use for beatbox / vocals though.

I'd recommend Compressor: thresh -17db-ish, ratio i have at 3, but if you need more don't be afraid to bump up the ratio to 5 or 7. Noise gate you just have to mess around with talking quiet and make sure cuts/opens properly. Outboard mixer is the wave tho, sure you already know

Seconding buying a Cloudlifter if you don't already have one. Makes it into a whole new microphone in terms of quality (and that's saying something)
