For people wondering why we don't have bans in Bo5 The answer has typically been status quo plus the fact that M2k makes a big deal about how its "just to nerf him" or "buff spacies" every time, and the community feels bad and sticks with the current ruleset.
Main point to me is that we shouldn't try to balance the game, but to make it more enjoyable and interesting. Just like ledge grab limit prevents a certain type of gameplay, I think the least interesting matches are the one where one has a massive advantage because of a stage.
Personally I was actually against having weaker dsr and more bans like in Ult, but after playing it I realized that it ultimately creates more interactions between each player (choosing what to ban is a skill) and I ended up liking it far more than melees ban system

Bro, can I play melee on a Wii? Or a GC gives better performance? I've not tried to play Melee competitively because it's not that easy to begin with. I have the same problem with PM.
you can play melee on a wii you can also play melee on pc via dolphin emulator. If you play through dolphin, you can play online netplay with others to practice
Enjoyable/interesting are hard to debate. I think we should focus on what we want to reward. What's more in the spirit of the game? It's worth noting that adding a ban encourages solo-maining. Should we reward people learning a secondary for a bad stage?
I know all the talk is about Marth on FD, but what about some characters on Dreamland? I mean people are kinda forgetting that this change would go both ways and not just nerf Marth players.
