Melee twitter/reddit has probably never been in a more toxic state than in 2020 tbh. Any remotely rational discussion or thought gets taken completely out of context for a sick "burn/hot take". Almost nothing productive ever happens on here either like it does for other games.
So many fucking coasters and lazy people constantly shitting on the people who work the hardest in and for the game, and almost no support and interesting content at all. No ruleset talk, no talk about Slippi/unclepunch, no guides on how/why to get into netplay/melee. Its sad.
This website makes me seriously consider quitting melee more than anything else. Its just filled with fucking insects who want nothing but to shit on people who give their all for our game. I've long since given up on any constructive or productive discussion for melee on Twitter
I really fucking wish I could just be paid to be a good melee player and live of prize money but sadly the only way to earn a decent living of melee is to be active on social media. So I'll have to deal with you clowns somehow. fucking hell.

I've fucking given everything for melee and been taking 250 dollars for 3rd despite having much better opportunities to make money because I love this game. I might not always be a positive influence on twitter but I see no reason to try when all I ever get is shit on.
You kind of create it for yourself. Be the change that you wanna see instead of just saying "everyone else is toxic so I'm gonna be toxic but everyone else is the problem"
Isn't this the same guy who was talking shit on tekken fgc for being toxic based on a stream chat? Not like, the actual community. But the chat.... 
The ssbm subreddit has slowly become 50 low-mid level players using the same old memes while asking the same questions. I've been trying to clean it up but man, so many people there are adamant that Puff is 6th in the game and Hbox just outplays everyone 100% of the time.
I don't think it's a coincidence that melee fans became way more awful right after the hbox doc came out
I mean its no consolation but tbh the whole internet is on fire. These same discussions are literally how LOL has been operating and getting worse annually Its just the state of gaming now where people self validate their own opinions even without facts because they can. Its dumb
when you try to improve or point out flaws you get backlash because people dont want to change their ways even if its suboptimal cuz it ruins their world view of how theyve been operating. Its like Ourboros they themselves are their problem but complain and dont try to solve it
