It's really hard to not take criticism of the PGR algorithm personally since, well, it's literally my work. Start to finish. It's probably not healthy, but I read everything everyone says about it. I try to make improvements every season. I hope A51 makes sense once it's all out

I think your algorithms is system is quite frankly shit but I do wanna say that I appreciate the work you put into it and the scene, and I know full well that there's no ill intent :)

Thanks, I think? For what it's worth we already decided before this season was over that EU events are going to have lower requirements for making PGR next season.

Too little too late at this point imo. There's 1 pgr player so you can't get any significant wins anyway.

Significant wins are based on the current season, not the previous season. Beating Myran in July was beating an Area 51 player, people just didn't know it yet.

I personally hate that system as well, since it basically makes it rng if you got good wins or not according to the PGR, despite getting good placements your #1 seeded opponent might just not be able to travel much after that point and then it doesn't count? Lmao

Either way I really, REALLY don't think a measly entrant barrier is actually going to help europe get placed accurately, especially to those who don't travel to french tournaments

How would we avoid that though? Who should be worth more points for beating in season 2, Myran or Maister? And as for the entrant barrier, it literally can't hurt. I'm hopeful that the effect is significant. If it doesn't work, I guess I'll have to go back to the drawing board.

It won't hurt, but its not going to make a big difference since unless you make it like a third of the US, Us players will still have more access to PGR events.

And also, isn't the invitational (say summit) based directly on how many PGRd players there are there? So if there's an EU invitational it literally won't count even if everyone ends up making PGR after right?

The new multiplier on attendance means that an EU invitational with all of its top players *would* in fact count for PGR.

Why? So 5 top 10 PGR players host an invitational, and then 5 of EU top 10 do, and theyre both S tiers and worth the same?
