It's really hard to not take criticism of the PGR algorithm personally since, well, it's literally my work. Start to finish. It's probably not healthy, but I read everything everyone says about it. I try to make improvements every season. I hope A51 makes sense once it's all out

Is it really RNG if its based on recent placements though? Like maybe youd be unsure if you beat the number 25 or the number 27 but its pretty easy to tell if a player has enough results to be PGRd.
Lets say I beat leo at genesis in pools, and then he stops traveling because he's so upset that he lost. Should that make my win not count?

Thats a pretty ridiculous hypothetical ngl, but I guess you make a good point that it doesnt cover for players that were very good and quit mid-season. Tho im pretty sure thats only because its so rare, the PGR did take into account wins against ally even though he was unranked.

Its not rare at all lmao. puppeh was highly ranked the same summer I beat him, and now my win counts as nothing cuz he did slightly worse this season.

i assume that would be an exception, which rankings should have a way to handle, but not enough reasoning to change the system myran is 51 because of his performance not because of his absence
