it's not surprising at all to me since psychologically it's extremely gratifying for humans to share something you like, or watch someone experiencing something you've experienced and liked; to see if they like it too we've all done it irl and online BUT it is a bit sad ya : (

Usually I think react vids are pretty low effort. I only do them to trailers and such if my fans ask for it, BUT the vid you made was pretty informative of a lot of misconceptions with character matchups frame data etc, so it served a purpose other than reaction. I liked it.

"high effort content" often means activating my brain, while it's simpler/more relaxing to watch reaction content while doing something else, esp. after a day of work. It also works well because you manage to be entertaining/interesting in live, which is not given to everyone :)
