To be fair, I thought the same thing, I read it in the manga, but had to go back to refresh because it seemed off, the whole slide show was anime original, and in the manga it just explains that mirio fought him off for 5 minutes before help came

It was a dogshit episode they should have went all out on budget for this one. Mirio in the manga went on to beat overhaul without his quirk for 5 minutes. In this episode it showed him doing it for 10 seconds with a slideshow like wtf?
