Had a great day today, woke up and saw a great movie, and then went home and ate some dope sushi. Then I played against fifteen cheesers in tekken who ran the first match they lost and about thirty leeroys and now I want to die. So all in all just the usual

Sadly all Tekken is at low to intermediate levels is gonna be cheese. It's just gonna be non-stop constant checks on your matchup knowledge.

It's not. This is a common issue with all fighting games at low to intermediate level of play. People are going to use tools that abuse people's lack of matchup knowledge a ton.

Play any game long enough and you can. It's a legacy style game. Unlike other fighting games movelists don't change at all unless a character gets a rework. Remembering all the moves is the exact same principle as remembering combos. It just takes a lot of time.

This gives the advantage to fans of the series who have stuck around for years through all the games and punishes people who are newcomers or people who abandoned the series. (The latter sorta deserving of it)

Its not objectively bad design but its completely fair to hate bloated movelists and design decisions that agressively dissuade newcomers.https://youtu.be/y05GU3waVXY
