Well to me I'm speaking about the majority of the characters. I'm well aware there's way more demanding characters but the ones who actually reward the extra time put into them vs picking an easier top tier is in the far minority.
Tekken has very little execution barrier when it comes to combos. The true execution barrier relies in movement and defense. some chars also need good execution for some stuff (ie Bryan taunt and chars with 13/14 fr launcher with a ff/ewgf motion, hard to use as block punishment)
Really what makes Tekken hard is just basic level of entry I would say yeah. Can't speak to smash at all but kbd and matchup checks make intial entry to the game hard. After that it's mainly about spacing and using 3d space.
