If someone would quit ultimate because of a few boring match ups then they really didn't like it in the first place. These people would be saying the same thing about fighting Marth, Sheik, or Peach in Melee since it isn't as fun.

I'm quitting/taking a competitive break from Ultimate because of all of these toxic matchups and I don't quit melee because of cc dsmash. You can absolutely hate some of the MUs in ult but like some others considering they don't play similar at all.

I'm not disagreeing that things aren't always fun and often feel toxic. I just feel that's a given and subjective based on the player's preferences / mentality. It's not necessarily some objective problem with the game.

Well duh, and the player you quoted just said hed quit cuz in his subjective opinion those characters are boring to play vs, regardless if theyre good or not. You're the one calling him basically a "scrub" for having a completely valid opinion.

every game has this though. It's impossible to have thousands of matchups and this not be a problem. Complaining about it does nothing but scream into the void. And it only encourages people to complain, even if the complaints are invalid. This creates a toxic culture.

every game has its flaws but no game has this many matchups with this few counterplay options and such a god awful training mode. Complaining about people complaining doesn't help either, blaming people for disliking a part of a game they purchased does jack shit.

Training mode being shitty is definitely a valid complaint. But most of the other complaints essentially come down to "too many characters, no time to learn all their nuances" Which is definitely frustrating, but I don't know how to fix it with this roster size

Better online, better universal mechanics, better normalizations of mechanics (armor should work the same or look different, same standup frame data for ledge options OR more significantly different ones so you instantly notice a difference) & more laggy/clearly punishable moves

Better training mode, tutorial, replay mode, more universal mechanics that let you outplay opponents (movement/ledgehogging)

Fair points. Ledge frame data is actually super standard aside from 3-4 characters though. Funny timing since I just made a tweet about why animations can trick people:https://twitter.com/Remzi_SSB/status/1201579176119164932?s=20 …

Remzi #BLM @Remzi_SSBAnti-G&W stuff: G&W has standard ledge getup frame data, but people often struggle to punish his ledge options due to the unique animations His regular getup is invulnerable frames 1-33 and the animation ends on frame 34, so what makes it so tricky to hit? Not even close lol, actually read up on the data...

Standup frame data from ledge which you mentioned is the same for every character except Samus, Kirby, Peach, Young Link, Pacman, Ganondorf I'm literally looking at the data
