I feel like even if I wasn't a big fan of the game, but other people loved it and the crowds weren't dead silent most of the time, it would be much more fun to compete in Ultimate imo. Kinda like working a job you don't like but with great passionate colleagues.
This isn't really a jab towards Ultimate community or anything, hell I don't get hype for it either, but I think I didn't truly realize just how amazing some of the other communities were and I miss being part of that.
Understood. I'm glad you're able to offer insight on that level considering you've been part of other FGCs. It's quite interesting. It's a shame Ultimate hasn't been kicking the same as other communities :( Do you think any of that has to do with how new/young the community is?
Regardless you should do what makes you happiest, and it seems like you know what you want. You bring hype to whatever community you're in and I'm thankful you were able to share some with us

yeah but at big house 9, that didnt have a crowd mic and you could still hear chelly cheering for mango over game audio. I think thats what he means, also melee crowd getting hype happens way more often.
I have seen so many majors where the Ultimate crowd is silent for a large amount of top 8, but the Melee crowds are popping off and hyped
on stream or in person? because on stream it's hard to tell since some tournaments often don't have crowd mics. I see what you mean anyways. Crowds normally don't cheer until near or at the end of the game or during an upset, but they do cheer
