issue isn't with wanting a bigger & better scene, thinking Nintendo can help in a way that's mutually beneficial issue is with those who think that money is owed because we exist Nintendo having to leverage their support into a small, niche, uncontrolled community is a big ask
our scene is neither small or uncontrolled, especially relative to other scenes in the space. It's literally 99% only because nintendo is an old japanese company I haven't seen anyone suggest nintendo should give us money for nothing in return.

depends on what you think their returns are if they fully engage, products & skins & official events, then yes absolutely (this is expensive, labor-intensive & risky) if it's just money in a pot? to.....sell Smash? everyone buys Smash anyways, catering to us doesn't do anything

Nintendo not only makes Smash games, they can sell merch in an official nintendo stand around the venue or they can advertise other games like splatoon or whatever new thing or service they might want to promote to a decently big live audience of 10 to 70 thousand people

There's a difference between saying "we deserve Nintendo's money" and saying "it would make sense for Nintendo to give us their money". The first implies we are owed something, which isn't true, while the second is by most estimates a factually true statement

It’s uncontrolled in the sense that the players are not employees of Nintendo and not bound under any sort of contract or union tied to Nintendo. Things can happen out of the blue such as the Ally drama and there’s nothing Nintendo can do about it
