You can play games for money just like anything else in the world, don't mean it is the best financial decision. A *very* small percentage of people can actually make a living from games alone, just like sports for example. At the end of the day, peeps should follow their dreams
People should be able to follow their dreams, thats exactly why people need to be able to pay rent while playing smash full time. We're not asking for million dollar prize pools.

But for that to happen, sacrifices would have to be made. I know top players already sacrifice a lot for events, but wouldn't it be a little bit selfish to help ONLY the top players (very few % of people) when we can make revenue in other ways such as streaming or content?

no, they worked themselves to the point where theyre winning. they should be getting money that is worth the time money and energy they put into what they love. they make content mostly cause they need to. snd yknow a lot of us lower level players WANT yall to make more money
