This whole thing is why what @FictionIRL tweeted about avoiding the top 100 is the way, or we need seasons and circuitshttps://twitter.com/CaptainSmuckers/status/1172980481434030082 …

its another reason why people living in the US are so favored. They can go to an event and just DQ/play secondaries/get drunk if theyre not feeling up to it and only say ull try when you feel like youre gonna do well.

The problem with a panelist system is sadly that people are very biased and fickle in what they consider a real win. I already know that people will forget about what happened with the schedule at Shine but will absolutely see axe playing YL as proof the set doesnt count

And obv people forget if you go to a tournament and then DQ. The whole system is fucked honestly, the panelists have always had extremely varied (sometimes flawed) values so its why Ive never cared about any community decided ranking tbh.

I'm sad that you feel this way, since the point of the ranking is to increase publicity for the entire top level of the scene. Pre-2013 publicity was pretty disproportionately skewed towards the five gods to the detriment of most other players, and I don't want to return to that.

Me too, and I do think its better now than 2013 but its still not great. The fact that the system rewards me dropping out of shine when entering is clearly beneficial to the scene and its a chance (altho smaller than normal) to win a major is extremely fucked up tbh.

I feel like the system has worked pretty well for a while now, but with event saturation and more difficulty running events due to tighter constraints, everything has gotten muddled.

Agreed, people are now obsessed with win loss records and useless stats (average placements LOL) to the point of not playing the game because theyre afraid itll hurt their statline

Similarly, In the
@NBA you’d see players heave half-court shots at the end of quarters to try and get additional points. Recently players don’t do it because it’ll hurt their shooting %’s if they miss it.1 Antwort 2 Retweets 36 Gefällt mir -
