I've been really frustrated recently trying to get decent practice online with Ultimate. PT, specifically zard and squirtle, but even ivy, are just so bad and more importantly, so different online. It doesn't help that 95% of top EU players don't seem to ever wanna improve =(
Had a offline session once this week and having the Bootcamp (with Meru, Gluto and Armada) so hopefully I'll feel better about ultimate. I'm seriously so over beating peoples secondary for hours while they flowchart the same options that work on worse people :(
the amount of people who actually play good characters and take improvement seriously in europe is so insanely low for ultimate. Even the people that do play top tiers almost always do it because they played them before and now they happen to be better. Feels like a dead end.

Coming from competitive StarCraft, Ultimate is absolutely the most frustrating game to "outwork" anyone with. You are essentially always gimped on potential unless you have a constant clique of good local practice partners.

I know this sounds like unwanted work but why don’t you help the mid level players in your area get better so then you have more players to practice against. I’m not just saying beat their ass till they understand I mean you gotta explain to them and help them step up their play
Issue with this is he shouldn't have to. Yeah, it's cool to help people who aren't that good at the game, or could be better, get better. But does he have to? It shouldn't be a prerequisite to have good players in your area to get better at a game that's worldwide.
The “grind” culture you’d find in melee seems to be nonexistent in ultimate. People rarely ever play their mains or play seriously in friendlies unless you piss them off lmao
