Guys the better you get at ANY fighting game the more you will realize commitment to ANY option that is punishible (read as 99% of options) is worse than trying to bait your opponent to a commitment and punishing them. That's high level and it's defensive in nature.

Non troll response though, you are a higher level player than me so I say this with that in mind, I think we have different definitions of what defensive is. Yours may be more accurate but I define anything that is done with taking the least risk possible as defensive.

Defensive is not the same as low risk to begin with, but if you actually look at fighting game matches objectively you see people take high risk high reward reads all the time.Obviously not a high risk low reward option for no reason all the time but thats just knowing whats bad

So either way your initial tweet is very very off. The whole fighting games are inherently defensive is something straight off r/smashbros trying to defend ult being defensive

I wasn't trying to defend Ultimate, I am actually very plugged into my region's FGC. I have played FGC's. My region is actually known as the down back region, so my views may be biased due to that.

No I didn't mean it that way, its just the typical reason for why they say those things. Your game/region is defensive and so instead of seeing that people rationalize it to mean that all games/good playstyles are defensive
