Guys the better you get at ANY fighting game the more you will realize commitment to ANY option that is punishible (read as 99% of options) is worse than trying to bait your opponent to a commitment and punishing them. That's high level and it's defensive in nature.

Right which I can see how you would disagree with my definition with that thought process, I would make the point for you to consider that the information to get hard reads from an opponent usually comes from the defensive part of low risk/ defensive neutral early on in sets.

And that being with equally skilled opponents not a top player just crushing low level players with hard reads cuz that's totally different lol.

So either way your initial tweet is very very off. The whole fighting games are inherently defensive is something straight off r/smashbros trying to defend ult being defensive

I wasn't trying to defend Ultimate, I am actually very plugged into my region's FGC. I have played FGC's. My region is actually known as the down back region, so my views may be biased due to that.
