Let me spell it out for you: SHIELDING DOES NOT BEAT HEROS MENU. he can cancel it to dash grab (frame 13 option) and anything else and most of his moves are safe on shield in practice. Shielding does NOT avoid dying to thwack or magicburst with any kind of certainty.
Also anyone who thinks theyll never get hit by hatchet man is an idiot. Its slow but trust me people get hit by far more reactable shit all the time when there's not 20+ options like with hero. Bowser down B for example is 34fpoint blank, and usually 40ish before actually hittinf
Yet you see people get hit by that. Same thing with incineroar/ganon/ridley side B. And they dont have options that kill you at 0 for not shielding.
I have agreed with pretty much every point you have had about rng, but isn't the risk/reward here very much in favor of shielding the menu? even if they cancel into a grab he doesn't get much off of a grab compared to the majority of his menu options being very strong
even if grab doesn't directly lead to much, it still gives him some stage control and possibly another opportunity for a menu pull
Who actually used Magic burst while your opponent is on stage anyways? It's extremely effective when the opponent is off stage forcing them to just get hit and die and low percents
If you're going for full random and pressing without reading the menu and you get a burst with them somewhat near you, it can massively catch people off guard and kill them.
I agree with you on this clear lack of understanding about the menu on shield. But, it feels like this whole thing is a crusade for Ult to be more like M. And it's just not going to be
