Honestly the fact that prominent players in the Ult community think you can react to Hero's menu option blows my mind. Even low level standard fighting game players understand that its not about the startup of the move, its the frame they differ from eachother that matters.
Not to mention ledgetraps, in between stocks and recovery situations where the opponent often has no counterplay at all. Its reallt infuriating trying to argue with people who can't understand basic theory crafting :(
Let me spell it out for you: SHIELDING DOES NOT BEAT HEROS MENU. he can cancel it to dash grab (frame 13 option) and anything else and most of his moves are safe on shield in practice. Shielding does NOT avoid dying to thwack or magicburst with any kind of certainty.
Also anyone who thinks theyll never get hit by hatchet man is an idiot. Its slow but trust me people get hit by far more reactable shit all the time when there's not 20+ options like with hero. Bowser down B for example is 34fpoint blank, and usually 40ish before actually hittinf
Yet you see people get hit by that. Same thing with incineroar/ganon/ridley side B. And they dont have options that kill you at 0 for not shielding.
plus they all seem to refuse to admit hero has a huge advantage by acctually pressing down b... thiers not some crazy animation that draws your eye to the screen to"out read" a prepared opponent who is already looking down since they know there pulling up the menu...
Hero: Looksdown AND presses down b> starts reading> pick the move Opponent: oh he stopped moving is it bait or down b> to look down > to read> react like wtf those clearly arn't equal at all.

While I agree there’s not much you can do on the ledge, so much of Ultimate is just neutral, and I don’t agree that Hero’s is drastically different than any other setup character. He’s Robin with more bells and whistles—keep him on his back foot and what can he do?
Look at you vs Salem—he didn’t have much time to get anything going, and only hit you with like a wifi Snooze once lmao. A small stage and a quick character overwhelm him quickly, and I don’t even need to bring up that last edgeguard :)
I dare someone to recover against a Hero hovering over Magic Blast with full MP. Spaced just out side if getup attack range when their opponent is recovering. It's a 100% guaranteed stock for Hero
I hope you realize that many reasonable people who would normally debate with you won't because: 1. You frequently insult those you argue with. 2. Your followers shit on anyone who disagrees with you(especially if they are not well known). Twitter is not a great platform in(cont)
the first place for these discussions, and you can't help point 2. You come off as just wanting to force your opinions on others without being open to discourse and that is very unappealing for a serious/reasonable discussion. This is just my impression though I know many agree.
