and its not nearly as risky when done well properly, as well as because ledge trapping got nerfed so going offstage for a chance at % is often preffered over just always defaulting to ledge trapping for a (lower) chance at % Recoveries are still extremely overpower in Ult tho.
and none of the characters in this game come close to having an edgeguard move as good as Magic Burst, and yes it is random and not completely reliable but thats the exact point, an RNG chance to pull the strongest move in the game is not good for competitive games.

I think that's only half true. If none of the moves were good, but all random, it wouldn't be as big an issue. the problem is that only some moves are really good and it's rng, so you can't properly prepare for the "good" options

Remove the rng and give Hero a frame 1 invul move that's a combo starter and jump cancelable, that's fair right?
