Yeah you're right, you can't react to Sheik needles when they mix it up if you're not expecting needles, and you can't react to Thwack if they mix it up if you're not expecting the Thwack. But do I need to explain to you why it's important to prioritize what you're reacting to?

Forgot about hatchetman it's a 37 frame startup move LMFAO not including menu 20 frames, you need psych up + oomph to shield break with fsmash without a a charge, or you need a crit
The player playing against hero almost has the same amount of time reacting to hero's command spells as the hero player because of the reading. This means that you can safely counterplay most of hero's spells by adapting to the situation, or at least give yourself an advantage
No because hero knows if he's gonna cancel it or not and he doesn't have to react to the list startup.
Counterplay is a pain in the ass bc not only is the Hero going to be reading through the menu before their opponent (only one of them needs to react to the move) but the Hero main is obviously going to be much faster at reading through the menus and picking a good spell.
I'm personally not pro-ban yet but I'm not gonna pretend like the game isn't lop-sided in favor of Hero the second the menu opens up as long as the Hero knows how to use it right.
Each individual thing Hero can do has counterplay obviously but how tf is it right to claim that it's easy to account for all possibilities when it's all RNG like come on shield isn't gonna save you from everything
Thwack is the move with the most complex counterplay in the game? Hmmmmmm...Thwack can be outspaced, shielded, parried, countered, reflected, etc.. Thwack is only really scary when you're trying to either recover, or land, but there's still plenty of options in those scenarios.
